Reflexology Healing Arts Learning Organization Amanda Bolen 3 Reflexology is a simple, non-invasive therapy and is preformed by applying varying pressure to the reflexes of the feet, hands and ears.  These reflexes correspond to every organ and gland found in the body and once stimulate, it causes responses (relaxation) in those corresponding parts.  Relaxation is the first step towards restoration of internal balance.  Once this is achieved within the body, the affected area may go on to it’s normal state of functioning.

A person’s level of health depends on it’s body’s ability to rebound back to its normal balance after trauma or injury i.e. Stress, disease etc.  Reflexology can be used to trigger this response and aid the body to achieve this more quickly.  It can also be used as a preventative program in order to maintain a health state.  Every individual responds differently to this type of treatment due to his or her individual needs.  However, once the body has been brought to a state of relaxation the body will naturally restore proper function and that person will start feeling better.
